RESULTS from NORTHERN ID SHOW

Show NewsThank you to the exhibitors who supported our show which was held on 25th July 2010 at Linnel Wood, near Hexham. We had an enjoyable and successful day - and perfect weather! Great trophies and prizes were awarded to happy winners. We raised £77 with our raffle in aid of the Equine Grass Sickness Fund. Good luck to the NW I D Show - all the regional shows deserve full support - such a lot of time and effort goes in to running and organising these shows.
Please see the full results in the Shows & Events section.
Thanks. Hilary Kristensen (show secretary)

Otley Show - Ridden Pure Bred Irish Draught

Show NewsWe had a fabulous but rather "hot" day, at Otley Show yesterday, to say the least. The Irish Draught Ridden Class brought some super horses forward, and from being initially brought in fourth, and then moved up to first mean't so much to myself and my husband. It is the first full year under saddle for our young horse, and winning the class yesterday was fabulous. From seing "Radley" as a cheeky yearling, and working with her to get her to show standard has been amazing. Having such a super day as yesterday, makes all the hard work and sweat worthwhile. Radley "Low Moor Purple Heather" is still only 5 yrs, and we are so looking forward to her maturing over the next few years, and maturing into a magnificant animal.

NEW SHOW FOR IRISH DRAUGHTS

Show News

LANCHESTER AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY SHOW
SUNDAY 4 JULY 2010

The Lanchester Agricultural Society Show is well established and efficient - this year will be our 58th Annual Show - and we are pleased to announce that for the first time we are introducing Irish Draught Classes across the board.
There will be In-Hand classes, including Brood Mare and Foal plus Qualifier for the New Snowford (GB) Breeding Championship, Youngstock Classes, plus Qualifier for the NFU Pure Bred Youngstock Championship and Ridden Irish Draught Classes including a Qualifier for the Blue Chip and IDHS(GB) £2,000 Challenge. All three Championship Finals will be held at the Irish Draught Horse Society Breed Show at Arena UK in September.

Our show is well organised, with a kind and friendly environment for horses. The show already includes major qualifiers including Puk and BSPS summer championships, RIHS (coloureds), Bronze Medal welsh classes, Cherif PBA classes and we hope that the addition of the Irish Draught Classes will further enhance the Show.

As well as Equine Classes, Lanchester Agrultural Show also holds a cattle and sheep section.

There is an extensive local Farmers Market and refreshments and bar.

We are very pleased to welcome the Irish Draught classes to our show. Please do support us in this new venture and send SAE for a schedule to: C Miller, Escomb Farm, 81, Low Escomb, Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham DL14 7SW.

We look forward to seeing you there.
