SHOWING RULES

Our Society is now in the position of having Grade 2 and Grade 3 registered horses, both purebred and partbred.

Therefore decisions have had to be taken as to which classes our Grade 2 and Grade 3 stock should be eligible for, if any.
G2ID, G3ID, G2SH and G3SH registered stock will NOT be able to compete against any of the Grade 1 registered stock (i.e. RID, AID, SID) or Grade 1 registered Sport Horse stock (SHR) in any youngstock / in-hand classes.

However it was felt that the IDHS (GB) in accepting the G2 and G3 horses on to a register within the Society would be acting unfairly to exclude them totally from all classes. In the future if the need or demand arises it might be possible to hold separate classes for them both in-hand and ridden.

RIDDEN CLASSES - in the meantime G2 and G3 registered stock will be able to compete against Grade 1 registered Irish Draughts and Grade 1 Irish Draught Sport Horses in ridden classes only.
All shows have been notified of the above.

NEW RULES FOR SID / SPORT HORSE MARES
Owners of straight half breds, who cannot decide whether they wish to register their horses as SID or SH, can now have dual registration at no extra cost.

This means that owners will be able to show in EITHER graded mare classes OR ID Sport Horse Classes, but will not be permitted to show in both types of classes in the same season.
Mare owners should notify the Show Affiliation Secretary which classes they will be showing in at the start of the season and they will not be permitted to change from show to show.

It is hoped that this decision will encourage owners to show their mares.
