IRISH DRAUGHTS IN DRESSAGE AWARDS 2008

We are delighted to announce the dressage awards for 2008 are being very generously sponsored by Patricia Ranby Nuttall, of Haugh Manor, Lincolnshire, in memory of her mother Jessica Ranby late of Grimblethorpe Hall, Louth, Lincs.

Patricia and her family are very committed horse people, indeed her late mother held horse trials at Grimblethorpe Hall for 15 years. Patricia’s son, who is Chairman of the Beverley Polo Club, regularly plays polo, which she also sponsors.

Patricia says: “I have an Irish Draught Sport Horse called Knightsbridge who was Champion Irish draught at the Great Yorkshire, Lincoln and many other shows in 2007.
At the Breed Show in Lincoln he won the Novice 33 Dressage, Ridden Irish Draught Sport Horse and was Reserve Champion. He came 5th in the Blue Chip and IDHS(GB) £2,000 Challenge.
We have three horses who have qualified for the Regional Winter Dressage Championships.”

All horses with at least 50% Irish Draught blood competing affiliated dressage and who qualify for the BD competitions as listed below, can register for inclusion for the awards. All horses must be registered with IDHS (GB). The prizes will be awarded to the highest placed ID bred horse in each of the following sections. If there is only one horse qualified in a section, providing they present themselves on the day and compete in that section, they will still be awarded the prize. There will only be one prize per level for the Regionals, the prize being awarded to the horse that achieves the highest percentage. A horse that has won an award in previous years cannot qualify again at the same level, but we welcome horses that qualify at a higher level.

Where there are both restricted and open sections of a class, the person with the highest score will determine the winner, and not the placing.

Dressage to music is excluded from the competition.

Qualification is limited to one level per horse. If a competitor qualifies for two levels, one level must be nominated when registering the qualification.

Prizes for the National Finals will be awarded on the day by a representative from the Society, but due to the number of venues involved, all Regional prizes will be forwarded by post.

All competitors who qualify for the awards must register their qualification 7 days before the competition with Gaynor Mitchell Tel. 01695 573406 or 0790 951 7578 or Email gaynor.mitchellATlineoneDOTnet

A copy of the horse’s passport (breeding details sheet only) along with details of the rider, and the competition date/ venue you have qualified for, should also be included.

Should anyone have any queries about the competition, please contact Gaynor Mitchell as above.
