Information for Show Qualifiers
Important notice regarding
qualifying competitions
Blue Chip and IDHS (GB) Challenge, the NFU Mutual Youngstock Championship
and the New Snowford (GB) Breeding Championship
Last year we
had a number of issues with incorrect rosettes and packs being awarded at shows.
Further to this, not all stewards recorded who had qualified and therefore shows
were unable to let us know who had qualified at their show. This made it
difficult for us to remind qualifiers to enter the Annual Breed Show or to
produce a list of qualifiers at the end of the season.
Additionally, the feedback from shows is that we are asking stewards to issue a
lot of items in the ring. Not all qualifiers and packs which we send out to
shows are awarded, which is a waste of postage. Therefore we are trying to
simplify the process by NOT issuing qualifier packs at affiliated shows in 2010.
At
qualifying shows this year, if you qualify for one of the above championships,
you will receive a rosette in the ring. To receive the qualifier pack, which
includes the Annual Breed Show entry voucher and £10 feed voucher (Blue Chip &
IDHS(GB) £2000 Challenge only) you will need to complete an online form - below.
On
the reverse of the rosette, there will be a webpage address together with a
code. You will need to go online to the web page and complete the form. This
will give the Society all the information we need for the Yearbook, to send
reminders out for the Annual Breed Show and for us to send out the qualifier
packs to those who have qualified. If you do not have any access to the internet
(remember that quite often a local library will have internet access for the
public), then there will be a telephone number you can call. However, it is
important to only use this if you have no other option.
For any of
the qualifier competitions, you only need to qualify once. If you have already
qualified for a championship to be held at the Annual Breed Show and the Judge
or Steward is trying to award you another qualifier rosette for the same
championship, please let the steward in the ring know that you have already
qualified, so that they can pass the qualifier on to the next in line (if
applicable). This is only fair for other competitors and will mean that more
people have an opportunity to compete in the finals at the Annual Breed Show,
therefore increasing revenue for the Annual Breed Show and Society.
The benefits
of this system are:
· We will know if someone has qualified more than once for a championship.
· We will have a list of those qualified, so we can email them a reminder
about the Annual Breed Show.
· It will cut down on additional postage charges - as not all packs sent
to shows last year were awarded.
· Shows will hopefully find it easier, as they will only need to hand out
the rosette.
· It will be one less thing to juggle with in the ring and remember where you
put it in the lorry!
The
information which qualifiers give us will only be used by the IDHS (GB) and not
passed on to third parties. Thank you for your cooperation.
