VIDEO ADVERTISEMENT GUIDELINES

Video files can be extremely large, and are slow to view/download over a modem connection. Therefore, ideally they should be no longer than approximately  45 - 60* seconds. This will give an average file size of 2mb; which will take approximately 4-5 minutes to load/view on the website (or send/receive via e-mail) over a 56kbps modem, or approximately 40 seconds with a 512kb ADSL (broadband) connection.

AVI, MPEG, and WMV video formats are accepted. Other formats may be usable, but cannot be guaranteed. (Most digital camcorders will 'save' files as AVI or MPEG). Windows Movie Maker will save as WMV.  Windows Movie Maker (included as part of MS Windows software) can also be used to make videos of photograph slideshows.

Videos for display on the website are formatted as Adobe Flash files and can be viewed in most browsers, providing the Flash plug-in is installed. If not installed, this is a free download from here.

Your video will be 'linked' from within your advertisement.

Alternatively -
Your video can be uploaded to YouTube, and embedded in your advertisement. This will give it more exposure, will not be so affected by size/length, and is the recommended method. Formats required are the same as above.

If your videos are already hosted elsewhere - YouTube, MySpace, etc; it may be possible to link directly to them. Please forward a link to the webpage, or the 'embed' code.

* The length of your video recommended above is a guide - you may submit whatever you require.

If you are using background music in your video, PLEASE ensure that you have obtained a license (all commercial music is copyrighted).
The following website may be of some assistance - Zoom Licenses.

Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. We ask our supporters to “do their bit” to show these extraordinary young men and women that they are cared for by us.
Horseback UK is a charity that has been created to provide a safe, secure environment to aid those serving in the armed forces who have suffered acute stress as a result of active service. Combining equine therapy, nature therapy and adventure training, Horseback provides part of the rehabilitation process for serving personnel and veterans from the UK military.
